100 schools, including Shifnal Primary School, were selected for The Co-operative Group’s £1m Green Energy for Schools scheme to receive rooftop solar panels worth £20,000. The panels are half funded by the Group with match-funding from the Government’s Low Carbon Building Programme (LCBP).

Co-operative manager, Craig Smart, and Sunny Solar visited the school to officially switch on the panels.

Also celebrating the event were pupils and members of the school staff.
